Senior Management Appointments
Masterlock's Senior management
service has been established in
response to the difficulties faced by
many Governing bodies and Local
Education Authorities in recruiting
senior managers, particularly at Deputy
and Headteacher levels or in situations
where a school has been identified as
having serious weaknesses or is placed
in Special Measures. Our service is
designed to assist schools who are in
need of good leadership, whether this
be as a short/medium term measure
whilst a long term solution is found or
on a permanent basis. Many Governing
bodies and LEA's use our service either
as a replacement or substitute to their
traditional methods, or as an extra
resource for sourcing high calibre
senior management personnel. Their
needs can vary from resignation,
maternity,or long term sickness cover
to providing additional support to a
school in difficulties or to an
inexperienced or struggling
Headteacher.
Our national database of candidates
have a proven track record of senior
management, many of whom are Ofsted
inspectors. Any candidate that we
recommend will have been interviewed
personally and undergone a thorough and
stringent vetting process which include
a minimum of three professional
references, police, medical and
qualification checks. Although it is
usual for senior managers to be in post
for a minimum of a term in a full time
capacity, we also have a number of
candidates who are available to
undertake part time and/or short term
advisory/mentoring roles.
Whilst it is our intention to
recommend at least three candidates for
a post in order to provide a choice of
candidates there may be occasions when
this is not possible. We take pride in
our efforts to ensure that only
suitable candidates who match the
specific client brief are recommended
for consideration. Our senior
management candidates are given precise
details of the assignment and are fully
briefed about the expectations that
will be made of them before they are
recommended for consideration. We
encourage informal visits and
discussions to ensure that there is a
high degree of compatibility before
reaching formal interview stage.
LEA's or Governing Bodies who are
interested in using our service will
need to provide full details of the
assignment together with relevant
background details. Successful
candidates can either be appointed
through Masterlock or directly by a
school on a fixed or permanent
contract. Senior management personnel
are paid with reference to national pay
scales and any additional costs such as
relocation or accommodation expenses
are subject to negotiation.
